I want to be a pedetrician, but im not sure how to get there and if i want to do atleast 8 years straight of college. I was starting to think about becoming a 4 year nurse or an RN and then later going back to finish and become a pedetrician. But im not sure if that will cut my final school time, because i dont want to go to school 4 years and become a nurse then have to go back and do 8+ for peadatrics. please help..

Hi there! You don't have to decide right away. To become a doctor, first you need to get a bachelor's degree. You can major in whatever you want as long as you take the pre-med sequence required to get into medical school. If you're thinking of being a nurse, you can get a four year nursing degree and then go to medical school afterwards-- or perhaps you can find another medical reated degree that interests you, like medical technology. Getting a nursing degree first won't make your school time either longer or shorter.

This article has alist of classs you need to take to get into medical school and some pre-med guidelines. Good luck!
