I've seen some articles lately about high school kids getting cash and prizes for grades, and not just from parents. Kids are getting cash from the school system. One even received a car!

I definitely think a car is a bit excessive. But you are right. Especially in schools/districts where performance (grades) are tied heavily to additional funding for the school.
