Here's a tip about finding a great persuasive topic: have fun. You don't have to use a tired persuasive topic that college students everywhere have used before. And unless you're told otherwise, you don't have to chose a topic that sounds professional or "scholarly." Instead, find fun persuasive speech topics and essay topics that you would enjoy working with. It's much easier to be persuasive if you're arguing about something that interests you!

Maa...well, the roads in Wisconsin aren't that good either - they're full
of potholes (WAY too many, even with all the snow this winter).

The reason you pay taxes is so that the rich can get more rich and once the
economy falls, the government will take a ll the money from the rich and
everyone will be middle or lower class and they (the government) will try
and rebuild the economy. Hopefully it won't happen for quite some time, and
it shouldn't even though America is millions of dollars in debt, more even
i don't know how much we owe other nations.

Correction: America is TRILLIONS of dollars in debt...or was four years
ago, and it's probably increased since then. Don't complain how crappy our
roads are; there are plenty of countries who have nothing but dirt roads.
There are plenty of people in those countries who would love to have their
government take care of them the way ours takes care of the poor and
unemployed in our nation. We can complain about our taxes or we can be glad
that we have a stable government, and we're not in the middle of a
revolution or something. There is always something to complain about...if
you look for it. But we also have more than enough to be thankful for. If
you focus on the bad, that's all you'll see. There is always a choice. And
if you find a problem, one of the great things about this country is that
you can step up to the plate and do something about it. So you can sit back
and complain and watch the condition get worse, or you can be optimistic
and do something about the problems you see. It's all up to you.
