Is college life getting boring and predictable? To spice things up, here are some ways to incorporate reality TV into college life.
Thanks to media trends like MySpace, Facebook, iPods, and online college courses, college life will never be the same. So why not transform campus even more with the other great media trend of our era-- reality television? Here's a few creative ideas for incorporating the world of reality TV into college life.
The Amazing Race Across Campus. Teams of students compete to complete grueling bureaucratic challenges across campus, such as registering for classes, completing financial aid forms, and finding a parking spot quickly enough to get to class on time. The winning team graduates.
Pimp My Dorm Room. Xzibit visits the dirtiest and lamest dorm rooms on campus and gives them a pimped up makeover. Expect bling studded bunk beds and monitors that cover entire dorm room ceilings.
Who Wants to Pledge a Fraternity? The pledge class has daily challenges, and whoever doesn't get eliminated joins the fraternity. If you think fraternity hazing is bad, wait until you see the challenges.
America's Next Top Professor. This show gives hot young academics the chance to strut their stuff in the classroom and win a "lucrative" $40,000 contract with a Big 10 university. Superprofessor Noam Chomsky is the host.
Survivor: Weed Out Course. Sixteen contestants vie to outlast each other in a gruesome Intro to Chemistry class. The winner actually gets to become a Chemistry major.
Big Brother: Dorm Room Edition. Twelve contestants, one dorm room, lots of Web Cams.
The Bachelor Professor. Twenty-five beautiful graduate students vie for the attentions of a handsome bachelor professor. The winner gets to be his TA.
Public Speaking Idol. A much more interesting version of the traditional public speaking class. Celebrity judges will berate poor speakers.
Roommate Swap. Incompatible roommates have to learn to live together. After tearful tribulations, life lessons are learned.
Iron Dorm Cafeteria Chef. Celebrity chefs compete to make delicious dishes out of a mystery ingredient. The hard part is that the mystery ingredient is so gross that even the chefs don't know what it is.
